With the Droid making a good impression on almost all that have it, here is a list of the apps I personally recommend.
Amazon – Allows you to take picture of product bar codes and search the item up on Amazon, if you have amazon prime this can help save some cash and make sure you get a good deal.
Astro – Excellent file management tool, gives easy browsing and allows you to play things from it without having to load up various media players.
Flixster – Flixster is an online movie review website, but it also has showtimes for movie theaters. Being able to pair up movie reviews and times at my local theaters made sure I didn’t see a movie that sucked and gets the information out quickly.
Google Voice – This is app that allows you to send and receive phone calls through the google voice service, masking your number, call filtering, and visual voicemail. You can choose to install google voice and only use the voicemail part, which allows you to view translated calls and mark them as listened to.
How to knot a tie – I always forget how to knot a tie, this little app shows six of the most common knots and gives picture step by step directions for each.
Live Football Scoring – The name is self explanatory, besides providing quick access to scoring for NFL and College Football games, it also covers the MLB. You can click on a game for detailed stats if you are concerned about your fantasy team and don’t want to go trudging through websites online.
Twidroid – Probably the best looking twitter client on the android, there is a professional and a basic version. I’m currently using the basic, but if you want easier access to twitpic the pro version is good as well.
Weatherbug – Yes, the terrible awful website made the best weather app on android. Interface is clean, fast, and intuitive.
WikiMobile – I look probably 10 things up on wikipedia a day, it’ll be more now that I don’t have to be near a computer to do it.

If you use php and have to interact with another server, you’ve more than likely done it with curl.
cURL is a command line tool capable of a wide array of server to server interactions, their website list the wide range of abilities, but the ones I use most often have to do with scraping content or form posting. Read the rest of this entry »

How have you managed thus far? Have you gone insane? More than likely your day has been getting filled up with someone talking to you about their fantasy football team, this needs to die in a fire.
